Check out our interview with Misato from the popular Harajuku vintage shop FUNKTIQUE. Her shop originally opened in Fukushima in 2004. As a result of Japan’s March 2011 earthquake and nuclear disaster, she was forced to leave her home and move to Tokyo. In 2012, she opened FUNKTIQUE Harajuku. She talks about how friendly and welcoming Harajuku has been to her, even as a relative newcomer to the scene. There is also a shop video tour on YouTube.
